PUMA Faas 1000 Men's Running Shoes

Tipping the ultra-cushioned end of our Faas Foam Scale, the Faas 1000 is a new introduction in the neutralCELL category. And, despite its hefty numerical value and plush cushioning, it still manages to sit firmly in the "lightweight" category, thankyouverymuch. FaasFoamLite, a softer midsole foam that sits close to the foot in conjunction with our already lightweight and resilient FaasFoam+, helps the cause. The Faas 1000 also features our unique EverFit Lace upper lockdown technology, which ties into the shoe's laces to help keep the foot in place. 30 DAY TEST RUN: Go ahead. Get them dirty. Put them through their paces. If you aren’t 100% satisfied, you can return these shoes within 30 days of purchase using our normal returns process. Features: Watch the design film at http://youtu.be/XllobpX1hwY Upper pairs a base air mesh for breathability and comfort with a top-layer mono mesh for protection neutralCELL designation for optimal cushioning and flexibility that provide an efficient, smooth ride for the neutral runner EverFit Lace upper lockdown technology that ties into laces, securing the foot without inhibiting its natural movement Lace closure for a snug fit Molded rebound EcoOrthoLite® sockliner for breathability, optimum fit, and highly responsive comfort Lightweight FaasFoam+ midsole (PUMA's new proprietary blend of foam and rubber) for improved resilience and increased step-in comfort, with FaasFoamLite for a softer yet still responsive ride EverTrack high abrasion resistant rubber adds durability in high-wear areas of outsole Outsole utilizes PUMA's EverRide+ injected blown rubber compound, now lighter and with enhanced cushioning and durability for a smoother toe-off Forefoot flex grooves, with aligned flex notches, for consistent flexibility and an easier toe-off Reflective welded overlays at heel for lightweight support and added visibility PUMA Formstrip at medial and lateral sides PUMA Faas 1000 Logo label at tongue, with PUMA Cat Logo at forefoot and heel Weight: 10.4 ounces (size 9) Heel to toe drop: 12mm

I really enjoy the Faas 1000. First time I used them it was like stepping onto a brand new experience. I almost exclusively do street running and the extra comfort and support is really appreciated. Highly recommended.

I just ran a full marathon in these shoes. I was able to complete it nearly an hour faster than last year, and with almost no pain or soreness afterward. I attribute this, in no small part, to the cushioning of this shoe. Especially the forefoot cushioning. I switched to this shoe for the marathon because I felt that the cushioning would maintain its comfort level even into the long miles, and help lessen the pain in my hips, legs, and feet that comes with the constant pounding of the pavement for hours at a time. And I was right. This shoe was as comfortable at mile 26 as it was at mile 1. I did not feel any of that jarring pain that comes with lesser-cushioned shoes. Spring-y, but not sponge-y. The stability was also more than adequate considering all the cushioning. I am also a very big fan of the lacing system, as I have a chronically bad habit of tying my shoes too tight. The everfit lace system eliminates that for me. I've also run a couple of 5Ks, and the slightly extra weight has not had a negative effect on my times. In terms of quality, they are in just as good of shape after the marathon as before. In summary, no post long run pain and no negative effects on times makes for one very satisfied runner. These shoes are great and I would highly recommend them. (PS...I am not a "bigger" runner. 5'10 155lbs size 11.5 reg width.)

Great cushioning, unsatisfactory heel-to-toe transition

The Faas1000 is a lightweight, good-fitting shoe which provides breathability and great cushioning. On the other hand, heel-to-toe transition leaves a lot to be desired. This is very likely the consequence of a miscalculated sole thickness coupled with a tread that should be rethought. The dual-laces system is alluring rather than functional. In the end, I think some tweaks and adjustments are needed to unleash the potential of this shoe in order to make it a worthy competitor against rival, well-known products.
ProsPerfect fit, plenty of cushioning
ConsExpensive, no smooth ride
No, I do not recommend this product.
